Nags Head raise over £800 from pub quiz

The Nags Head in Wrexham raised £820.72 from a pub quiz night. This is a great amount of money to raise from one evening, and it’s thanks to everyone who took part that they raised so much.

Six-year-old Alfie walks 11km to support Skydivers

After hearing about people taking part in the Nightingale House Skydive in August, Alfie, aged 6, has decided to take on his own challenge in support of them on July 21st.

Alfie will be walking 11km up and down Moel Famau.

He said he wanted to do something that supported the jumpers and the patients we look after here at the hospice. Jackie, Alfie’s mum, says: “He is such a kind-hearted and adventurous boy, showing empathy beyond his years. When he heard about my work colleagues completing their skydive challenge, he remembered me doing the same a few years ago and insisted he would be doing it himself in the future!

When I explained to him that where I work relies so heavily on fundraising and support from the local community, Alfie was determined to raise his own contributions to support those completing the challenge.

Would you climb Snowdon in a suit?

As crazy as it sounds, that’s exactly what Christian is doing next weekend! Christian, who works in the financial industry, will be climbing Snowden on Friday, July 26, wearing a full suit.

Christian says: “I am taking part in this fundraising event as Nightingale House makes a huge difference in the local community. Having visited the hospice, it was incredible to see the support and care they provide for individuals and families.

The hospice requires a substantial amount of money to continue the good work they do. If my challenge can help raise funds, I know it will make a real difference. A helping hand can be a ray of sunshine in a cloudy World.

This challenge will not be easy, but the hospice, our staff, and volunteers will cheer Christian on the whole way!

Ice cream at the hospice

Mark Banks from Deeside Creameries very kindly visited the hospice this week to provide FREE ice cream. This was such a lovely and thoughtful treat for staff and volunteers. The visit definitely brightened up everyone’s day!
