Tribute Funds
A meaningful way to remember someone special. Â
Losing someone you love is never easy, and everyone finds their own way to remember and celebrate their life. For many families and friends, creating something positive in their memory can bring comfort and connection, especially on anniversaries, birthdays and other important moments.
A Tribute Fund is a special way to honour your loved one while helping us continue to care for patients and families across our community. It creates a lasting legacy in their name, allowing family, friends and colleagues to come together, share memories and support a cause that makes a real difference.
Whether you’re setting up a fund yourself or supporting a young person to remember someone special, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Adult Tribute Funds
Creating a lasting legacy in memory of your loved one
At Nightingale House Hospice, we understand that grief can feel especially difficult at certain times of the year, such as anniversaries, Christmas and other significant milestones. Everyone copes in their own way, and you’ll know what feels right for you.
Setting up a Tribute Fund is a simple and meaningful way to celebrate your loved one’s life. The fund is created in their name, and family, friends and colleagues can contribute in any way they choose, helping to create something lasting and positive.
As your Tribute Fund grows, we’ll recognise key milestones with meaningful tributes:
- £1,500 – A commemorative rose bush planted in your loved one’s name
- £5,000 – A specially designed engraved pebble placed in our flowing pebble pool, with a second for you to keep
- £10,000 – A tree planted in memory of your loved one in a community garden or location of your choice
- £20,000 – A star named in memory of your loved one as an everlasting tribute
Creating a Tribute Fund is a beautiful way to ensure your loved one’s memory lives on while supporting others in the future.
Junior Tribute Funds (Robin Funds)
Helping young people remember in their own special way
We know that for children and young people, losing someone close can be especially hard to understand, particularly on important dates like birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas.
A Robin Junior Tribute Fund offers a gentle and meaningful way for young people to remember someone they love, while making a positive difference to others.
The fund is created in their loved one’s name, and family and friends can support it in any way they choose. Many children take part by giving donations instead of birthday gifts, organising school fundraising activities, or joining hospice events.
As the fund grows, we celebrate each milestone with special recognition:
- £50 – Bronze certificate and woven badge
- £100 – Silver certificate and woven badge
- £250 – Gold certificate and woven badge
- £500 – A special certificate plus two handcrafted, life-size robins engraved with their loved one’s name
- One robin will be placed near our pebble pool at the hospice
- The other is for your child to keep at home
When the young person turns 18, their fund can be transferred into an adult Tribute Fund if they wish.
