Spiritual support
Supporting you on your journey
At Nightingale House Hospice, we recognise that bereavement can leave you grappling with profound questions of faith and meaning. Our dedicated Spiritual Support team is here to provide compassionate care and guidance for recently bereaved families, regardless of your religious or spiritual background.
We are here for you
Our compassionate team of staff and volunteers is dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming space for all patients, families, and visitors. Whatever your needs, we are here for you throughout your journey with the hospice.
HOW WE CAN HELP YOU:
Our Chaplaincy team is here to offer guidance, comfort, and a listening ear, whether you need support through difficult times or simply someone to talk to.
Spirituality isn’t just about religion, it can be found in many aspects of life. However, if faith is important to you, we can offer support or help connect you with a local faith representative of your choice.
REFERRALS
Patients can be referred to us either by their GP, District Nurse, the health board’s Specialist Palliative Care Team (SPCT), Clinical Nurse Specialists and other medical specialists involved in their care.
SELF REFERRALS
Patients and their carers or families can also make a self referral by contacting us:
“Spiritual care is an essential part of palliative care, it’s about helping people through those quiet, big moments when they’re reflecting on life, about the people they love, or figuring out what matters most to them. We want patients and their families to feel wrapped in care, to find some peace and comfort in a way that’s open and honest. It’s not about us having all the answers; it’s about being there while they find theirs.”
