Speciality Doctor

Part time, job share or full time

Nightingale House Hospice provides specialist palliative care to adults with life limiting illnesses.  Our services are completely free-of-charge, to patients and their families across our catchment area stretching from Wrexham, Flintshire and East Denbighshire to Barmouth, and the border towns, including Oswestry and Whitchurch.  We work in partnership with our health board, primary and community care colleagues.

You will join a friendly and well-supported multi-professional team, committed to high standards of care, delivered in a modern environment.  Your role will be to deliver medical support and specialist palliative care to patients attending as an outpatient, to those admitted to our in-patient unit, those attending day services as well as visiting and assessing patients in their current place of care, whether at hospital or home.   We have a mixed clinical model, with Consultants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and established Specialty Doctors with the management of a diverse, increasingly complex and intense caseload.  There will be excellent support for personal development and opportunities for quality improvement work.

This is an excellent opportunity for doctors wishing to gain experience and skills in specialist palliative medicine, potentially, prior to applying for speciality training, or experienced doctors wanting a change in experience and working environment.

The pay scale for this full time role (8 DCC and 2 SPAs) is that agreed by the BMA Wales for speciality doctors.  There will be opportunities to develop beyond direct clinical care to one, which has extended roles in education, research and leadership, aiming to improve your working life.

Closing Date: 20th May 2022

Nightingale House Hospice is committed to providing equal opportunities in employment. Registered Charity No: 1035600
