Live music fans filled Llwyn Isaf this Early May Bank Holiday weekend as The Snuts and Ocean Colour Scene headlined two unforgettable concerts in support of Nightingale House Hospice, in partnership with FOCUS Wales.

Across two standout shows, a combined audience of over 2,000 people came together under the big top on Llwyn Isaf, Wrexham to enjoy live music while supporting a vital local cause. All profits from the concerts will go directly towards patient care and family support provided by Nightingale House Hospice across North East Wales. On Saturday May 2nd, chart-topping indie stars The Snuts took to the big top for an electrifying afternoon performance, supported by an exciting line‑up of emerging artists. The weekend continued on Monday May 4th with a powerful evening set from Britpop icons Ocean Colour Scene, whose timeless anthems brought fans of all ages together in a joyful celebration of live music.

The concerts marked a major moment in Wrexham’s cultural calendar and formed part of a broader programme of events surrounding the FOCUS Wales Festival, which officially begins on Thursday May 7th, bringing artists, audiences and industry professionals from across the UK and beyond to the city.

Elise Jackson, Events and Campaigns Fundraising Manager at Nightingale House Hospice, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, donated, and supported us across the weekend. The generosity and goodwill shown reminds us how much this community cares about ensuring hospice services are there for families when they’re needed most.”

Andy Jones, Head of Music at FOCUS Wales added: “These shows were the perfect warm-up for the start of FOCUS Wales, creating real buzz in the city and reminding people what a brilliant place Wrexham is for live music and culture. To see people come out in such numbers, support live music and back a local hospice made these gigs genuinely special.”

Nightingale House Hospice staff and volunteers were on site throughout the weekend supporting bucket collections, engaging with audiences and raising awareness of the hospice’s work.

With momentum building across the city, the successful concerts set the tone for the days ahead as Wrexham prepares to welcome artists, delegates and visitors for the start of FOCUS Wales on Thursday, continuing a week-long celebration of music, culture and community.
