Local businesses across the region are being invited to turn £50 into vital funds for Nightingale House Hospice through a new fundraising initiative.
As part of its Year of the Challenge, Nightingale House Hospice has launched the £50 Challenge, a fun and flexible way for businesses to come together and support local hospice care.
The premise is simple: participating businesses pledge £50 and then use their creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit to grow that amount as much as possible. From bake sales and quizzes to sponsored challenges and workplace events, there are no limits to what businesses can achieve.
By taking part, organisations can enhance their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, strengthen team morale, and raise their profile in the local community, all while supporting a vital cause.
Kara Lindsay, Corporate Engagement Officer, at Nightingale House Hospice said: “Every pound raised will help Nightingale House continue to provide free specialist care and support for people living with life-limiting and progressive conditions. This includes inpatient care, wellbeing services, rehabilitation, as well as crucial family and bereavement support.”
A number of local businesses have already signed up and are embracing the opportunity to give back.
Daniel Groombridge from The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) said: “At DTCC, giving back is part of who we are. We’re proud to support Nightingale House Hospice by taking part in the £50 Challenge and helping make a real difference locally.”
Editor at Essentials Mag, Vicky Heathfield, shared: “At EssentialsMAG we know what a fantastic service Nightingale House Hospice provides for people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families, and we love to support them in any way we can. Taking part in the £50 Challenge is a great way to give something back and hopefully help raise awareness and vital funds for everything they do.”
Helen Conway from Bodywork-Pilates Ltd, added: “Nightingale House Hospice has touched the lives of so many people across our community, offering extraordinary care, dignity and compassion during some of life’s most difficult moments. I’m taking part in the £50 Challenge because every pound raised helps support that incredible work, ensuring local families continue to receive the care and support they need when they need it most.”
With a deadline of 1st October 2026, businesses can take on the challenge in a way that suits them. Along the way, participants will also benefit from a sense of friendly competition, with recognition and awards presented at the end of the campaign.
