The Wrexham Monopoly board, developed by Nightingale House in partnership with Winning Moves a subsidiary of Hasbro and in collaboration with This is Wrecsam, Wrexham AFC and Wrexham Lager, will embark on a roadshow across Wrexham on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th June.
The tour will visit a range of local businesses and landmarks featured on the board, bringing the game to life across the community it celebrates.
On Friday 26th June, the roadshow will begin with a pop-up shop at Wrexham Lager from 10:30am to 12:30pm. It will then travel to Hotel Wrexham, The Turf, Wrexham AFC, Wrexham Miners and Wrexham University for a series of photo opportunities. The day will conclude with a second pop-up shop at Stori Brymbo from 7pm to 9pm.
The tour will continue on Saturday 27th June, beginning at Xplore Science, followed by a pop-up shop at the Wrexham AFC Club Shop at Eagles Meadow from 10am to 12:20pm. The roadshow will then stop at St Giles’ Parish Church and Vault 33 for further photo opportunities, before finishing at the Nightingale House Regent Street shop with a final pop-up shop from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
Speaking about the initiative and what it means for the local community, Sarah Povey, Corporate and Donor Relationships Manager at Nightingale House Hospice, said:
“Working with Hasbro to develop the Wrexham Monopoly board has been an exciting and rewarding project for the hospice. Taking the board on tour through this roadshow presents a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the local businesses and landmarks featured, while also giving the public a chance to purchase a truly special edition that showcases the very best of our community, all whilst supporting patient and family services provided by Nightingale House.”
The project has been widely supported by the local business community, with more than 30 organisations sponsoring squares on the board. The game will be available to purchase at pop-up shops throughout the roadshow, or online at bit.ly/Wrexham-Monopoly

Further reinforcing the collaborative effort behind the project, Joe Bickerton, Tourism Lead at Wrexham County Borough Council speaking on behalf of This is Wrecsam, explained:
“We’ve been delighted to have supported Nightingale House Hospice to develop & launch the Wrexham version of the world famous Monopoly board! It’s an idea that we’ve discussed for several years and we offer our thanks to the many well known Wrexham-based businesses who’ve sponsored a square to help make it a reality.”
All proceeds from the boards will support the patient and family support and services provided by Nightingale House Hospice free of charge to people across cross Wrexham, Flintshire, East Denbighshire, Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch.
