New music festival for kids coming to Wrexham this August
Wrexham is getting ready to welcome a brand-new summer event for children and families, with Kidsfest bringing live music, activities, street food, crafts and plenty of festival fun to the city centre.

What to Expect
Created as a music festival for children, Kidsfest will offer a vibrant day out in the heart of Wrexham. Visitors can look forward to live music, hands-on activities, delicious food and drink, crafts and more, with the full line-up and schedule to be announced soon.
Play and playfulness are key themes in Wrexham’s bid for UK City of Culture 2029, and Kidsfest will help bring those ideas to life through music, creativity, family activity and shared experiences in the city centre.
Kidsfest is being brought to Wrexham by Wrexham County Borough Council, in collaboration with Nightingale House Hospice, and supports Wrecsam2029, Wrexham’s bid to become UK City of Culture 2029.

Entry is free.
We kindly ask visitors to consider making a donation to Nightingale House Hospice to help us continue providing care and support to local patients and their families.
Do I need a ticket?
No, simply come along and enjoy the day.

All children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the event.Can I bring my own food and drink?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own refreshments. Please dispose of any rubbish responsibly.
Are food and drinks available to buy?
Yes, there will be a variety of food and drink vendors on site.
Can I bring a picnic blanket?
Yes, picnic blankets are welcome.
Can I bring camping chairs?
No, folding camping chairs are not permitted.
Can I bring a gazebo?
No. Gazebos, large shelters and similar structures are not permitted for the safety and comfort of all attendees.
Can I bring a BBQ or camping stove?
No. BBQs, fire pits, camping stoves and any naked flames are strictly prohibited.
Can I bring alcohol?
No. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the food and drink available on site and drink responsibly.
Is KidsFest accessible?
We want KidsFest to be an enjoyable event for everyone and have taken reasonable steps to make the event as accessible and inclusive as possible.
What should I expect at the event?
KidsFest is a lively outdoor festival featuring live music, entertainment, activities, food stalls and large numbers of visitors. Throughout the day there will be loud music, crowd noise and busy areas, particularly around performance spaces and popular attractions.
My child has sensory sensitivities. Is KidsFest suitable for them?
Every child is different, and parents, carers and responsible adults are best placed to decide whether the event environment will be suitable for their child. To help with this decision, we are providing information about the nature of the event and the facilities available on site.
Will ear defenders be available?
Yes. A limited number of children’s ear defenders will be available from the Medical Tent, subject to availability. We ask for a refundable £5 deposit, which will be returned when the ear defenders are handed back.
Will there be a quiet area?
While KidsFest is designed as a festival-style event, we recognise that some visitors may need time away from the busiest areas. If you or your child require a quieter space, please speak to a member of the event team who will be happy to assist.
Are there accessible toilets?
Accessible toilet facilities will be available on site.
Can carers attend?
As the event is free to attend, carers and essential companions are welcome to attend alongside the person they support.
Will event staff be available to help?
Yes. Event staff and volunteers will be on hand throughout the day. If you need assistance or have any concerns, please speak to a member of the team.

Will photography and filming take place?
Yes. Photography and filming will take place throughout the event and may be used for promotional and marketing purposes.
If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please inform a member of the event team.
Is there parking available?
Please use city centre car parks. Further parking and travel information will be shared closer to the event.
Will the event go ahead if it rains?
KidsFest will go ahead in most weather conditions. Any significant updates will be shared via the event’s social media channels and event page.
Can I bring my dog?
Assistance dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times, owners are responsible for clearing up any mess. We ask owners to carefully consider whether a busy festival environment is suitable for their dog.
