Volunteer Portable Appliance Tester

Role Overview
After training you will be carrying out simple Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on donated electrical goods. This is a combination of a rigorous visual and physical inspection and then testing the appliance with an easy to use Batt Tester which will be provided
What skills, qualities and values will you need?
- Attention to detail
- The ability to record simple data in a PAT testing log book
- Able to work without distractions in a busy environment
- Willingness to carry out instructions from members of staff
- Physically able to lift and move small and medium sized electrical products
- Ability to empathise with people that you come into contact with
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team

Essential Information
- You must be at least 16 years of age
- Be able to supply two character references
- This role is subject to a basic level Disclosure Barring Services Check
