  • Café Supervisor Recruitment Evening

    RECRUITMENT EVENING

    CAFÉ SUPERVISORS
    We are currently recruiting for three part time Café Supervisors to join our team at our new Café in the centre of Wrexham.
    Core working hours between 8.30 am and 4.00 pm across 7 days per week
    Part time hours – £8.00 – £8.50 per hour

    Nightingale House Hospice is opening a new cafe in the centre of Wrexham and we are looking for three part time Cafe Supervisors to join our team. Hours are part time and will be discussed at the Recruitment Evening.

    The Cafe will be at the heart of our hospice superstore and community and the Supervisor will be key to providing a warm welcome and fantastic customer service to all users of the cafe.

    Key responsibilities include:-

    • To set up and manage the cafe each day
    • To ensure that the cafe is presented to the highest standards and provides excellent customer service
    • Responsibilities including opening up and closing down.
    • To oversee and lead the front of house volunteers
    • The delivery of Hot and Cold Beverages, grab and go snacks and meals

    We are looking for someone who has:-

    • Excellent teamwork, communication and leadership skills
    • A passion for coffee and food
    • Experience of working in a busy cafe/coffee shop
    • Experience in opening and closing a cafe
    • Passion for continuously improving the cafe they work in

    You must be a leader and a person who deals well under pressure and can multi task to ensure your team is working to the standard expected.

  • Fundraising and Marketing Administrator

    FULL TIME

    Fundraising and Marketing Administrator
    Nightingale House Hospice, Wrexham
    37 Hours a week
    Salary: £17,000 per annum

    Are you an experienced administrator looking for your next challenge? Do you want to make a difference to your local hospice and work with an exciting, dynamic Fundraising Team? Then look no further this could be the role for you.

    Nightingale House Hospice is looking for a Fundraising and Marketing Administrator to provide general administrative support to assist the Fundraising Team to reach their annual financial target. The role will be responsible for ensuring all administration is streamlined, accurate and completed efficiently.

    We are ideally looking for professional with at least two years’ experience within an administration role and that is familiar with working in a busy environment and working towards tight deadlines.

    Above all, the role requires someone that is organised, personable, hard working and a strong team player.

    Ideally the successful candidate should have:

    • Experience working in an administrative role
    • Experience using databases / CRM systems
    • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills, paying attention to detail
    • Good IT skills, including experience working with MS Office
    • An excellent telephone manner
    • Willingness to learn and use own initiative

    Key Responsibilities

    • Administrative support for third party events, in house events, corporate fundraising and other campaigns as required.
    • To work alongside the fundraisers to schedule regular communications with event participants, ensuring they are supported and maximise their fundraising efforts
    • To send out confirmation letters, welcome packs, sponsor forms and tickets to all event participants
    • Work alongside the fundraisers to ensure thank you letters and chaser letters for events are sent out in an efficient and timely manner
    • Using the Donor Database, generate mailing reports to assist fundraisers with promoting events and campaigns to the appropriate supporters
    • Assist fundraisers with contacting the local schools about merchandise and event opportunities
    • Manage administration for bag packs, bucket collection and street collections ensuring volunteers are briefed before hand and acknowledged after the event
    • Assist with the website maintenance, ensuring the website is kept updated and accurate
    • Assist with answering fundraising phone calls, recording accurate messages for the fundraising team and answering general enquiries
    • Work in the supporter hub on a regular basis, accepting donation from supporters and answering phone calls
    • Workload allocation for office volunteers and at times event volunteer support
    • To attend and support third party, internal and external events and cheque presentations where required.
    • Work alongside the Income Generation Administration team to ensure the maintenance of fundraising filing systems, including archive and the storage thereof.
    • Provide additional administrative support to other areas during sickness and holidays

  • Area Fundraiser

    Salary: £20,000 – £23,000 depending on experience

    Nightingale House Hospice is looking for a new Area Fundraiser to join the Fundraising team.

    The Area Fundraiser is responsible for all fundraising activity within a defined area. This will include developing relationships with existing supporters, building relationships with new supporters and encouraging third party fundraising activity within the local community.

    The Area Fundraiser also has sole responsibility for organising a number of fundraising events. These will range from ticketed events such as the Christmas Concert, to sponsored mass participation events such as The Midnight Walk.

    We are ideally looking for a professional with at least two years’ experience in one or more of the following fields; fundraising, marketing, sales, hospitality or similar.

    Above all, the role requires experience with relationship management combined with a proven track record of achieving financial targets.

    Ideally the successful candidate should have;

    • Experience working in the charity sector
    • Experience working towards financial targets
    • Exceptionally organised with good time management skills
    • The ability to empathise and build excellent relationships
    • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • To maximise fundraising opportunities for Nightingale House Hospice
    • To be responsible for a personal income target that is set by the Head of Fundraising
    • Working as part of the income generation team to help develop new fundraising initiatives and events
    • Develop ongoing relationships with new and existing donors to maximise fundraising income
    • To manage third party events where Nightingale House has been chosen as the beneficiary charity
    • To support third party fundraisers taking part in sponsored challenge events and ensure they maximise their fundraising and sponsorship
    • To give presentations in the community to local organisations in order to increase awareness and generate support for Nightingale House
    • To be responsible for organising and managing specific fundraising events and achieving the financial targets associated with these events
    • To manage the marketing of each fundraising event that you are responsible for, ensuring it receives maximum coverage

    22.5 Hours a week 3 days per week
    £20,000 – £24,000 FTE pro rata depending on experience

    Nightingale House Hospice is looking for an In Memory Giving Fundraiser to develop and deliver the Hospice’s legacy and in memory giving strategy. The post holder will focus on donor development, supporter acquisition and retention.

    We are ideally looking for a professional with at least two years’ experience in one or more of the following fields; fundraising, marketing, healthcare, social work, legal services or similar.

    Above all, the role requires experience of relationship management combined with a caring, empathetic approach.

    Ideally the successful candidate should have:-

    • Experience working with bereaved relatives
    • Experience working in the charity sector
    • Experience working towards financial targets
    • The ability to empathise and build excellent relationships
    • Knowledge of legacy giving and donor journeys
    • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • To continue to develop and implement the legacy strategy in conjunction with clinical, marketing and fundraising staff
    • To be the first point of contact when people enquire about leaving a legacy and respond promptly
    • To continue to develop and deliver a Will Week campaign with local solicitors to raise income
    • Promote and administer in-memory giving including regularly updating and personalisation of thank you letters
    • Develop a Donor Retention and In Memory Giving strategy, to maximise retention of donors and increase their giving as agreed
    • Develop and administer our Tribute Fund scheme and maintain excellent relationship with donors
    • Manage the annual Light Up A Life Campaign and associated events

  • Shop Supervisor

    We are looking for two full-time Supervisors to help support our Store Manager for our brand new Flagship Store opening soon in Wrexham.

    The supervisors we are looking for need to have positive attitudes, be well organised, hardworking and be able to motivate and inspire their colleagues and volunteers. They must enjoy working for a fast pace business, have a passion for great customer service, a flare for merchandising and be able to make commercial decisions which will maximise the income for the hospice.

    This post is full-time and fully flexible. You will be expected to work additional hours on occasions to cover for holidays. Weekend working, on a rota basis, is required and you will also have to provide cover in the Store Manager’s absence and cover other stores in the local area.

    Experience of working within a large retail store or third sector is desirable however, full training will be provided.

    Terms and Conditions of Employment

     

    Medical

    A questionnaire will be sent to the successful candidate. This must be completed and forwarded to Occupational Health. The candidate must be declared fit before commencing employment.

    Qualifications/Professional Registration

    Appointments are offered subject to the successful candidate providing evidence of professional qualification(s) and continuing professional registration.

    References

    All offers of employment are subject to the receipt of two references that are satisfactory to the Hospice.

    Contract – Notice Period    

    1 week’s notice is required, from either party, during the probationary period and 4 weeks thereafter.

    Probationary Period

    Appointments for all staff are subject to a 12 month probationary period.

    Disclosure    

    A DBS check is required for certain roles within the hospice


    Employee Benefits

     

    Pension

    The Hospice operates a pension scheme through NOW pensions who will contact you regarding the scheme and eligibility once you are in post. If you are currently in the NHS pension scheme please discuss this with HR on commencement.

    Life Insurance Cover

    Death in Service Life Insurance Cover equivalent to two times basic salary for all eligible staff who are not covered by the NHS Superannuation Scheme.

    Holidays

    Holiday entitlement is 25 days per year plus 8 Bank Holidays for full time staff, (pro rata for part time hours). This increases to a maximum of 32 days plus Bank Holidays after 10 years service, subject to Holiday policy.

    Sick Pay

    In the first year of service – up to 5 contractual sick days then SSP.
    In the second year of service – up to 10 contractual sick days then SSP.
    After two years’ employment – up to 13 weeks full pay and 13 weeks half pay in any rolling year.
    After 5 years’ employment – up to 26 weeks full pay and 26 weeks half pay in any rolling year.
    Pro rata for part time staff. The above is subject to the sickness absence procedures being followed.

    Bank Holiday           

    A £25.00 additional payment is made when working whole or part of BH.
    Holidays This payment is only for staff who are required to work on the Bank Holiday e.g. Inpatients, Kitchen, Housekeeping.

    Staff Dining Room

    Excellent catering facilities which offer hot meals, snacks and sandwiches at lunch time.
