Having a ball
Well here it is. It’s already November and I for one am experiencing something of a seasonal influence as the leaves start to change colour and fall. Yes, it is the time of year for cashmere, log fires and the odd ‘cheeky’ glass (or two) of fizz as the nights start to draw in.
Speaking of fizz, my excitement is bubbling away (I know) as next week, I will be attending a charity ball. The Paul Maddocks Charity Ball to be exact and I can’t wait!
Held at Carden Park Hotel, in aid of Nightingale House, I am told that the glitterati will be out in force for the event so I have been really busy getting my style information together. The thing is, as its black tie, you need something just that little bit special so I have settled on a classic cocktail dress and stylish up do for that effortless but chic look.
Très chic is exactly what I need to be for the Charity Ball. It really does encompass all that is glamour and glitz…. celebrities, champagne, dancing and sensational food (did I mention that I am super excited?)!
I am also really looking forward to the charity auction that’s going to be on offer. For me, a charity auction has to be one of the most exhilarating aspects of a fundraising event but one thing is key, the prizes on offer have to be worth bidding on. I would say that the Paul Maddocks Charity Ball has certainly not fallen foul of that trap with a little bird telling me (yes I know) that auction’s prizes feature some spectacular goodies including:
A Day at Chester Races as an owner representing a horse for SIX people!
VIP hospitality tickets for FOUR people at Man Utd v Arsenal (lunchtime kick off) on Sat 12th Nov.
An original painting valued at £2,500!
TWO x VIP tickets (with meal before the game included) for one of the Champions League semi-final games this season!
Free hire of a spectacular Camper-Van.
A signed Real Madrid shirt!
I am also told that there is the chance to have your picture taken in a top of the range McLaren Sports car or Rolls Royce Wraith for just a £10 donation.
Just imagine the sheer delight at putting any one of those prizes under the Christmas tree for your loved ones (or for yourself) this year! I don’t normally have much success at raffles or auctions, but I am going to have all my fingers and toes crossed at the Paul Maddocks Charity Ball!
See you all on the dancefloor (I will be in the driving seat of the McLaren)!
