Oswestry Balloon Carnival 2021
21 August, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 22 August, 2021 @ 9:00 pm
Up, Up and Away…
The hospice has been synonymous with the Balloon Carnival over the years and having the opportunity to revive the carnival within Oswestry town centre in recent years has brought a new level of atmosphere to the event. It is always a highlight in Nightingale’s calendar which our events fundraising team enjoy planning along with organising partners Oswestry Town Council, Spirit and Oswestry Bid to make it a fun filled weekend with lots of different stalls and entertainment for all whilst helping us raise much needed funds.
“The Oswestry Balloon Carnival is very special to us with it being one of our most long-standing fundraising events, it is very unique and brings such a buzz about the town, there is no sight quite like it seeing such an array of colourful and different balloons above you. It is also wonderful to meet such fantastic supporters of the hospice from Oswestry and the surrounding areas, the donations collected on the day are so gratefully received it really is a pleasure to be working it. 2019 event raised over £30,000 which is a substantial contribution towards our services, and we hope this year’s event to be just as successful. This year will also be very significant for us as we will be for the first time flying our very own Nightingale house balloon, it will be a magnificent moment to see it take to the skies and we have our supporters and partners in the ballooning world to thank for it.” – Sarah Povey – Community & Event fundraiser
