A kind hearted couple from Wrexham are asking guests at their forthcoming marriage to donate money to Nightingale House Hospice instead of buying them wedding gifts.

Aaron Davies and Kimberley Williams were forced to delay their proposed wedding this month due to the coronavirus emergency but are nevertheless continuing to raise funds for the hospice.

The couple met in the summer of 2011 and knew straight away that they wanted to be together and by Christmas 2013 they were engaged and planning their future.

They found the wedding venue of their dreams in November 2018 and told their family to save the date in April 2020.

Together for nine years, they knew they didn’t need any household items as gifts. But as they believed that some guests would still want to give them a present as they celebrated their big day, the generous couple decided to raise money for Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham because it has a special meaning for them both.

They said: “Anyone can donate on our Just Giving page – not just our guests! We are both from the Wrexham area and we would be most grateful to anyone who could help support the hospice like they supported our family.

“This will be a thank you to the hospice for giving our family members and loved ones hope and support but who are sadly are no longer here to celebrate our special day.”

Bethan Scott, hospice Challenge Events Co-ordinator said: “What Kimberley and Aaron have so kindly decided to do in lieu of wedding gifts is just incredible.

“I first came across their story through their Just Giving page and I was so touched by their generosity that I just had to get in touch and find out more. Fundraising now, more than ever, is so important for us.
