Following referral and initial assessment, six treatment appointments are planned by the therapist. Each therapist comes into the hospice one day a week and, as such, different therapies are available on different days of the week.

Massage Therapy

Massage is a very ancient art and means of communication. It is the art of touch. With gentle rhythmic touch the whole person is contacted through the body. The gentle movements over the skin and muscles invite the body tissues to let go of tensions and strain, and to experience deep relaxation. Massage therapy has a clear start and finish, with clear guidelines as to what is involved during treatment; this often makes it a safe form of touch for those who are uncomfortable with physical contact.
