EIGHT colleagues from a Wrexham company have braved the shave and raised £2,076 for a local hospice.

Amelia Mason from DTCC based in Redwither Tower on the Wrexham Industrial Estate had her long blonde hair shaved off for Nightingale House, while seven male colleagues had their legs waxed by willing volunteers in the company.

Amelia said: “My grandad was a patient in a hospice in Devon so I know what wonderful places they area. Since his time there, my family and I have always been big supporters of the hospice movement so I was very pleased to be able to support our local one here at Nightingale House. Within DTCC many of us have had personal connections with hospices or know of others who have so we are always keen to help.”

Debbie Barton, Area Fundraiser for Nightingale House Hospice said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to Amelia and her colleagues for raising money in such a brilliant way. What a fantastic amount and we are so grateful to them for doing it and to everyone who sponsored them. We are very fortunate to have support such as this from our local community and businesses which all helps us in our work providing care, comfort and support to patients and families who need the hospice.”
