Hospice cracks the codes!

Have all the information you need about Nightingale House Hospice at your finger tips in less than just ten seconds, using the new popular smartphone trend ‘QR codes’.

QR Codes are similar to bar codes but they have two dimensions which permit it to store a large amount of data in a digital format. QR codes because they can be read quickly using a free smartphone application or ‘app’.

The QR codes can be links, images, videos or any other piece of information related to the product, service or company that is being advertised.

Kim Waters, Communications and PR officer said: “The Hospice is constantly trying new, innovative and most importantly, free, ways to promote their services and fundraising activities. The Hospice has a strong new media presence and so introducing the use of the QR codes were a natural progression for us.”

Nightingale House Hospice provides specialist palliative care services, completely free-of-charge, to patients and their families across a wide area stretching from Wrexham, Flintshire, East Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch.  This year alone, it will cost £2.46 million to run the Hospice, this equates to £6,700 per day.  Only 19% of this comes from statutory government sources.  The Hospice greatly relies on the generosity of the communities it serves.
